An itemized receipt scanner, free while we're in early access
Point your phone at a receipt, or upload the file, and ReceiptBay reads the individual items on it — not just the total.
What we read from a receipt
From a photo or an uploaded image or PDF, ReceiptBay extracts:
- The merchant
- The date
- Subtotal, tax, and total
- Tenders — how it was paid, where the receipt shows it
- Line items, including quantity and unit price where the receipt prints them
The line items are the part that matters. A total tells you what you spent. The lines tell you what you bought, which is what makes a receipt worth keeping.
How it works
- Create a free account on the web dashboard. No credit card.
- Photograph the receipt or upload an image or PDF.
- We read the fields into your inbox, and the original image stays with the receipt.
OCR is not perfect. Faded print, creases, and unusual layouts can be misread, which is why the image is kept alongside the extracted fields — check anything that looks wrong against the paper you scanned.
An Android capture app is in private testing. There is no App Store or Play listing yet, and email forwarding is not available yet.
Privacy, plainly
This site sets no cookies and carries no third-party tracking pixels, no advertising cookies, and no session replay — that is why you do not see a cookie banner here. We don't sell personal information, and your receipts are not used to advertise to you.
Receipt images and the data we read from them are processed in the United States. ReceiptBay is not a bank, and we do not connect to your bank or card accounts.
