End-User License Agreement
Last updated: October 16, 2026
This is a licence agreement between you and ReceiptBay, LLC (“ReceiptBay”, “we”, “us”) for the ReceiptBay software — the Android capture app when we distribute it, the dashboard, any desktop or mobile software we make available, and any updates to them (the “Software”). There is no iOS app yet. Our Terms of Service govern the Services the Software connects to, and they control if anything here conflicts with them. If you use the Software on behalf of a company, you bind that company.
1. Licence granted
Subject to this EULA and our Terms of Service, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, royalty-free licence to install and use the Software on devices you own or control, for your personal or internal business purposes.
2. What you may not do
Except where the law does not allow us to restrict it, you may not:
- copy, modify, translate, or create derivative works of the Software;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software;
- distribute, sublicense, rent, lease, lend, or sell the Software or access to it;
- remove, obscure, or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notice;
- bypass, disable, or defeat any access control, rate limit, security feature, or technical measure in the Software;
- use the Software to build or train a competing product or dataset; or
- use the Software to violate any law, or any agreement you have with anyone else.
3. Ownership
The Software, including its parsers, catalogs, and the aggregated metrics we produce, is owned by ReceiptBay and its licensors. This EULA gives you a licence to use the Software — it does not sell it to you and it transfers no ownership. What you keep and what you licence to us is set out in our Terms of Service.
4. Third-party connections
The Software can connect to accounts you hold with other companies, and can send data to services we use. Four things follow:
- Your use of a connection is subject to that company’s terms. You must not use the Software to reach another company’s service in a way its terms prohibit — including automated retrieval of your data from a retailer or accounting system where that company’s terms forbid automated access.
- Restrictions that follow the data apply to us too. Where the terms of a service you connect to limit what may be done with data received through it — including limits on aggregating, redistributing, or commercialising that data, or on using it to train machine-learning models — those limits bind us as well and qualify the licence you grant us in our Terms of Service.
- You are responsible for having the right to connect. Where you connect an account, you confirm you are entitled to authorise that connection.
- We do not control third-party services. They are not ours, we do not warrant them, and they may change or stop working. If a change removes a feature, we may remove the feature.
5. Updates
We may update the Software automatically, or require you to accept an update to keep using it. Updates are part of the Software and are covered by this EULA. We may stop supporting an older version.
6. App stores
If you obtained the Software from an app store, that store’s own agreement also governs your use of it, and that agreement controls over this EULA to the extent of any conflict. The store is not a party to this EULA and has no responsibility under it.
7. Fees
Using the Software does not require a credit card today, and there is no subscription. If we introduce paid plans, we will post the price and the terms here and in our Terms of Service before we charge anyone.
8. Ending this licence
You may stop using the Software at any time and delete it. We may end this licence if you breach it or our Terms of Service, or if we discontinue the Software. When the licence ends you must stop using the Software and delete it. Deleting the Software does not by itself delete your account or your data — use the deletion route described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimers and liability
The Software is provided “AS IS.” We disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law. OCR and merchant matching will misread things. The disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity in our Terms of Service apply to this EULA as well.
10. Changes
We may update this EULA by posting it here. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the Software.
11. Governing law
This EULA is governed by the same governing law and venue as our Terms of Service.
